Jairus’ Daughter

The Gospel of Jesus according to Matthew 9:18-19 and 23-26, Mark 5:21-24 and 35-42, and Luke 8:41-42 and 49-56.

Jesus and His Disciples were in Capernaum, by the lake, when an important man from the region named Jairus approached Him. Upon seeing the Divine Healer, Jairus knelt at His feet, pleading for Him to heal his only daughter, a 12-year-old girl who was dying. So Jesus went with him.
On the way, however, Jairus was informed that the girl had passed away. Hearing this, the Master said to him:

“Do not be afraid; have Faith, your daughter will be saved!”

When they arrived at the house, Jesus found a large crowd and flute players. He said to them:

“You are mistaken. The girl is not dead; she is only sleeping.”

Christ then asked everyone to leave and entered the girl’s room with only her parents and a few of His Disciples.
Seeing her lying there, the Divine Friend took her by the hand and commanded in a loud voice:

“Little girl, get up!”

Immediately, she came back to life and began to walk. The people were amazed, and the event became known throughout the region.

Commentary by the Little Soldier of God

Everybody thought she was dying. Then Jesus arrived and said, “Wait a minute!” because she was just sleeping. After that, she came back to life. Jesus is always in my heart. Jesus taught us that we don’t die because there is no death. We continue alive in Spirit, and Spirits never die. Jesus already knew about that.
